Today’s good thing was a long distance skype chat with my niece, Harriet, 7, in which she tells me that her ballet teacher is being quite harsh on her.

'Us twice a week kids, we've got an exam coming up and Miss Penelope is shouting at us, and I don't think she likes us,' she tells me.
'Well,' I say, 'perhaps you should suggest to Miss Penelope that her shouting at you makes you feel a bit bad. Do you still want to go to ballet?'
Harriet tells me no, she doesn’t to go to ballet anymore, because of Miss Penelope.
'Well,' I say, 'maybe another approach to take is to just accept everything she says to you and try harder so you can pass your exams,'

But, bored with this conversation, Harriet says- ‘So, what’s been happening in your life?’
So I start to tell her what’s been happening and at the end of each happening she says- ‘Uh-huh. So what else has been happening?’ until I can see she’s now totally bored by me and playing a video game.

The above image is a coloured-in version of Van Gogh Goes Round. It’s on photographic paper and coloured with felt pens, some good quality and some really cheap ones I got for (guess how much) the 99p shop. Felt pen goes on lovelyly on photographic paper, much more smoothly than pencil on rough old paper paper.
