While drawing this picture, I listened to an interview of Prof Woodie Flowers.
It’s long, but very worthwhile to hear him talk about creativity and other things.

Woodie is my friend Catherine’s Uncle.
I’ve never met him, but while I was listening to him speak, I was struck by how fortunate I feel to have met his niece, Catherine, and his sister, Catherine’s mum, Kay.

While I was drawing to Woodie, it was reinforced that listening to a person speak positively, coherently, and passionately about what they do in life inspires me as well as bringing out ‘peaceful’ content for my drawing.
I think about this while I draw, thinking about putting devotion and passion into my pictures, a ‘positive’ passion rather than the nasty rage I used to fill them with.

My friend, Hari, is right when she says she likes my new drawings because they aren’t ‘full of anger”, as say this one and this one.

I remember why I felt the rage, and I remember that it didn’t feel very nice.
