Pictorial Recollections of a Life Partly Spent

Link: Pictorial Recollections of a Life Partly Spent

To celebrate the closing and nailing shut of an uncomfortable wing of my life and the the doors being flung open to reveal a new and marvelous one, I am giving away copies of my comic book life story - Pictorial Recollections of a Life Partly Spent.

It’s not a print version, you’ll have to fork out for that.

This giveaway goody you can download to read on your eThingy.

I’m working on the print version of my life story.
It will be available on.

If you’d like to know when it’s ready, so you can buy a copy, here’s the link.

This is the last video from the drawing, Everyone You Meet Knows Something You Don’t.
Large and colourful, it is.
Have a look on my gallery page and you’ll see it.

Everyone you meet knows something you don’t.

This is part III in an I don’t know how many part series of stop frames of the progress of my latest drawing.
Scrolling back through this blog you should find some others, if you interested.

This one tells the story of my unpleasant fall from vegetarianism and the foolish choice of venue for my fall.

I am now back on the wagon.
And this wagon carries only edibles that have never had eyes.

Yesterday my friend, Amy Waters, the artist, came to visit me in my studio.
Amy Waters is a ray of sunshine in what can sometimes be a gloomy life.
I once visited her house and she showed me her family photo albums.
In every single photo, every member of the Waters family was smiling.
On holiday-smiling!
At home-smiling!
Undergoing brain surgery-smiling!

There was not one sullen pout, not a grimace, not a ‘get that camera out of my face’ look.

There was just pure, beaming happiness on every page.

Being with the Waters could make the Dalai Lama feel like he was a miserable shit.
Everyone should be forced to spend a few hours with the Waters.

They’re a family of natural anti-depressants.

'Well sometimes I go out, by myself, and I look for Amy Waters…'
Isn’t that what Amy Winehouse sang?

I’ve been building a city with felt pens and photographic paper.
Whilst doing it I’ve sat my iPhone atop a tripod and made a stop frame, a frame every 3 seconds.
This is part 2.
Part 1 is here.

ETA for this drawing is this afternoon, at which point there will be the final film in the trilogy of ‘I Build a City with Felt Pens and Photographic Paper.

The best felt pens, by the way, have not been Sharpies, but the cheaper WH Smith felt pens.

I just drew this tee shirt up and have my own in house modelling agency! @crazylikeadaisy @beixx @ladylauraprice @nellbelleandme @vixxywix http://instagr.am/p/PaHhEsuNqz/

Finished this piece off tonight. Chris wanted a tattoo that represents his love of music, of his bass, of his band, Rourke’s Drift, and of the funny helmet he wears on stage. So he got the 6 string god. On his calf. http://instagr.am/p/PXgDytuNj9/

I didn’t go snorkelling. But I made my own underwater world with a place mat, a felt pen and some wooden chip forks from Padstow (home of the soggy chip and middle aged tourists with dogs). http://instagr.am/p/PQ-EZ9uNjr/

Gilly and perhaps the beginning of a sleeve. This anchor was found online and adapted to suit Gill’s liking.

This is Chris. Chris goes underwater and takes photos of fish. He wanted a fish tattooed on his arm. I manipulated him into having it on his chest. Chris also organises African safaris.

I’ve come away with my fabric colouring pens. I’ve brought with me a teeshirt I bought in Tesco’s and I’ve made a new piece of clothing. I don’t believe in sitting around reading books by the beach. If I’m not creating something, I’m wasting time. Makes me sound like a wanker, I know. But #fuckit , it’s true @crazylikeadaisy @beixx @nellbelleandme @ladylauraprice @rayyycharles PS Padstow is an overcrowded extended car park full of old people dragging dogs. The chips were soggy and difficult to find and the seagulls are specked brown, as big as baby ostriches and as vicious as a gay scorpion on speed! Padstow? Don’t go! http://instagr.am/p/PKYE_nuNrp/

Happytown. I once lived in Notsohappytown, all black and white and shadows. Now I feel as if the Candyman visited and sprinkled me with….candy? http://instagr.am/p/O604kNuNlH/

Oh, to be 4 years old, on a Summers day with a new bicycle. @ladylauraprice @nellbelleandme @drbutterfield http://instagr.am/p/OdtVHmuNoM/

I’d agree with this. He looks like he’s from a 70’s rock band. He’s the guitarist who never have up weed. http://instagr.am/p/OROEvPuNm5/
