"This is what I’m stitching on my @craftivists #ImAPiece - think it’s something my MP could do with pondering…"

I’m not, but I made this badge today for my studiomate and comrade, Laura.

She came across the phrase in one of my drawings and I think I came across it in a TED talk, don’t remember which one now.

Today, I cleaned my studio in preparation for tomorrows voyage.
Then I finished this drawing.
While I cleaned and drew, I listened to a TED talk by Paul Root Wolpe that made science fiction not fiction.

Then I went out for Sunday lunch with the Mrs where I overheard a conversation about toilet paper.
'You gotta have nice, soft stuff,' said the female customer to the barman, 'soft, like. Andrex, preferably, not like shit you have here. It's like tracing paper.'

Today’s good thing was a visit by 2 lovely children, the 9 year old brother and the 4 year old  sister of Matt from Hook and Eye….and Matt himself, of course.

Today I’m doing small doodles, making badges for Tamara Parsons Baker.
I hand draw them, illustrating the lyrics to her songs.
I like making badges.
It’s repetitive and soothing, though somewhat time consuming.

While I drew I listened to this nice man.

All afternoon long I’ve been listening to talks on TED.
Naomi Klein on climate change and the BP oil spill.
Someone else on the destructive nature of plastic.
Someone else on how we’ve got the rise of China all wrong.
Someone on shame and just how difficult it is to tell each other that we love each other.

Which got me to wondering how I could reproduce my pictures on picnic plates and market them to the vulnerable and unloved but cashed-up Chinese.

This was also finished last week.
I’ve dedicated myself to completing 2 drawings a week.

In my studio I listen to TED talks or Fora.tv or something on Google Video, something to talk to me while I draw.

I like to at least learn something while I’m engaged in drawing.

Today, from TED, I learned about power, USA versus China and that the world is actually a much safer place than it used to be.
I also listened to a lecture by Sam Harris on Fora.tv.

I won’t go into what the drawing is about.
