I have decided to start getting art.
Art done by other people.
I am not tired of looking at the drawings I produce, because to be quite honest, once they’re finished I look at them as if someone other than me has done them, anyway.
I am completely detached from them.
A bit like a rodent, maybe.
I heard a show once in which a man talked about having kept mice when he was young.
The original mice couple had babies, which then had babies with each other.
They then engaged in so much rodent intercourse that, whereas before he had named each and every mouse, the boy stopped trying to pin the offspring to any branch of the family tree.
He decided to give them all up when he discovered a parent mouse eating its own child.
Well, some species eat their own children, others just palm them off.
That’s what I do with drawings.
Off you go, drawing/spawn.
I’m finished with you.
I’ve got other drawings what to spit out.

So, now, I am collecting other bits of art.
I have 2 of David Ranson’s paintings, because he is a shit-hot self-taught maniac with a paint brush.
I have some from Amy Waters and Laura Andrews.
And my friend, Joe Calabria, a painting of a New York street.
And I have a lot of art on my body.
Next, I would like another artist to design me a tattoo.
Or some art from someone who can’t draw or paint and doesn’t call themselves an artist.

It has to be ‘good’, though.
I don’t want just any old shit hanging on my walls.

Tee hee.

The above print comes from Alberto’s family.
I came across it on thecools.com.
It’s the first piece of anything I have bought from the site.
I will be back for more.
