Today’s good thing was having dinner cooked for me by my step-daughter.
Even better than that was sitting with her and talking to her while eating it.
The second best thing was laughing with her while we looked at her old spelling tests, from when she had help for her dyslexia.
We laughed while we tried to decipher words on a test on which she had scored 3 out of 50.
'Look,' she said pointing to her teacher's notes, 'when I was 13 I had the reading ability of an 8 year old,'
We both thought this was hilarious.
‘Well,’ I said, ‘when I was 13 I had the mathematical ability of an 8 year old. An 8 year old cat.’

This drawing was done in Charleston, Sth Carolina, one of the hottest place I have ever visited.
It hangs on the wall of June and Luca’s house.
It’s A4, soft pastel on black paper
