Today’s good thing was a chat to my solicitor.
I came out of the meeting with a minimum of stress, and a sense of relief.
It feels I’m on the smooth slope to I-don’t-give-a-fuck! Having duck on the menu helps, too.
And I do so love colour these days.
My life has brightened up!!!
Today’s other good thing was a long chat to my lovely friends, Hel, Tom and Laura. Tommy is a young man who can make this old girl see sense.
Then a coffee with Alison.
Strange how I loathed Witney so long but, now, about 15 of my favourite people in the world reside here.
I’ve decided I can’t relocate more than 12 miles from them.
When I told my family I was getting dissolved (divorced) they all said ‘come home’.
But I had to explain that I already am home.
Like Tommy says, ‘friends are the new family’.
So I have the loveliest, funniest most supportive family on earth.
I love them and thank for taking me in when I was thrown out by my ‘on paper family’. That’s how we roll, us people who know how to be friends.
So anyway, I have many, many now, and one has to be careful of who one allows in.
Like BB king sings-
'Once upon a time,
a long long time ago,
wherever you’d lead,
I would surely follow,
girl you out me through some pain and misery,…
….but baby, now there ain’t nobody home,
ain’t no body home!!!!
