Had a lovely long chat to my wise friend, Catherine, who lives in St Augustine, Florida.
We’ve been talking about my future and now she’s talking about her future; we’re both talking about her future.
'I like it here,' she says of St Augustine, 'but I've never felt tied to anywhere,'
We’re discussing possible professions for her.
'Maybe I'll become a welder,' she says, 'and make garden art.'
This drawings is called Enough.
It’s 70x100cm
It’s about not feeling as if you’re enough, or allowing someone to make you feel like you are too much, and not in an enough way.
I have been doing that for too long, all my life really.
But recently, just way too much.
The line ‘We have to stop sitting around waiting for them to love us’ comes from the most recent episode of This American Life all about family and can we change them.
