Today’s good thing was 2 fold- the arrival of my new glasses (and a trip to Specsavers with theamywaters.com) and a collaborative project with Laura-an illustrated things you wished you’d been told when you were a kid.
In Specsavers a woman was having her glasses fitted while her friend stood at the side of the table eating what looked like snack-a-jacks or pieces of broken pretzel.
'Look, AW,' I said, 'that woman is eating her lunch,”
Then the woman having the glasses fitted started to chew, also.
Then I started to think about the days when women would have worn white gloves, or any coloured gloves, to the optometrist.
Probably a hat, too.
There were probably no crisp packets then, just paper bags with some raisins in that you would have brought from home and removed your gloves to eat.
