Yesterday, as 3 long standing family friends that had come to visit my Mum were leaving, I sold them a print each.
When I draw I like to surround myself with previous drawings for reference, so I’d been to Officeworks and had somefull size prints done, intending to hang them in my improvised studio.
These friends, Christine, Ange and Anita, liked and bought.
One of the prints was a semi-inverted version of the Space Game.
In Photoshop I selected and then inverted the top half of the drawing, then selected and re-inverted the Mona Lisa-esque figure in the top left hand corner.
Perhaps, as my mother lies in her sick bed, I should set up shop in the entrance of her house for passing visitors to peruse my wares.
Today’s good, nay, EXCELLENT thing was a visit by Kenny and Lynn Webber, my parents oldest friends.
They drove 600km to sit with my mother for as long as she could manage, about 20 minutes.
Then they got in their car and drove another 600kms home.
I’ll be thinking about that level of friendship next time I receive a facebook friend request from someone I said hello to at a party once and whose name I wouldn’t even have remembered.
