Today I had lunch with my Aunt, my mother’s sister-in-law, the one who nursed a dying woman for three months, my mother, without a clue the woman was dying.
After lunch we stood in the driveway of what was once her and my mother’s shared home.
'This is one of those times when you say that cliched shit,' I said, 'like “I don't have words to thank you” so thanks,'
We laughed at this and then we both started crying.

As I drove out of the drive way I called out of the car window that I loved her.
She called back the same thing.
Though it was a pointless thought, I still thought I wished I’d said that to my mother more often than the one time she asked me to the night she told me she was going to die.

Today’s good things were many- Running into Julian who oversees the Mildura Art Centre and then having a meeting with him and the other lovely people who work there.
Another good thing was speaking a bit of Italian with Mr Pasquale Sr and realising I speak much better than his son.
Tee hee!
